Through Relationships and Sex Education we aim to: • Provide a framework in which sensitive discussions can take place. • Prepare pupils for puberty, and to give them an understanding of sexual development and the importance of health and hygiene. • Help pupils develop feelings of self-respect, confidence and empathy. • Create a positive culture linked to sexuality and relationships. • Teach pupils the correct vocabulary to describe themselves and their bodies. • Deliver knowledge and skills in a way that (through the lens of the curriculum aims), empathically considers the emotional and academic ability of the young person, whilst adhering to our ethos, beliefs and values.
